As of now the Dallas Cowboys are in the NFC playoff picture and the Chicago Bears are on the outside looking in. But the Cowboys aren’t completely safe, only a game up on the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East. The Bears on the other hand have very little hope, with both the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers ahead of them in the NFC North. Chicago has some hope, but would need help and have very little margin for error at 6-6, two games behind the Vikes for the No. 6 seed.
Game Time/TV channel/Streaming
It’s an 8:20 p.m. ET start, which means inactives will arrive at 6:50 p.m. The game will air on FOX and be simulcast NFL Network. If you don’t have cable, you can stream the game through Amazon Prime.
Fantasy football start/sit advice
The Bears offense had been pretty lackluster up until last week on Thanksgiving vs. the Lions. Prior to that game, Chicago hadn’t scored more than 20 points in a game in five straight. Mitchell Trubisky was solid in the comeback win on Thanksgiving, but has been one of the most inconsistent QBs in the NFL. On the Cowboys side, they’ve just looked very underwhelming for the personnel they have. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are underperforming relative to their draft position.
Strong start: QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliott, WR Amari Cooper, WR Allen Robinson, RB David Montgomery, K Brett Maher
Decent start: WR Michael Gallup, WR Randall Cobb, RB Tarik Cohen, WR Anthony Miller, K Eddy Pineiro
Sit: TE Jason Witten
Pick against the spread
I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know what to make of this game. You’ve got two of the most enigmatic teams in the NFL in a game that should matter, but who knows if either team really cares? The Cowboys are road favorites by 3.0 points in Chicago, and I’ll lean their way based on Prescott and Elliott. Mitchell Trubisky may have looked good against the Lions, but we all know he’ll revert back to his old ways in Week 14. Plus, the Cowboys have had a tough schedule. When they’ve played weaker opponents, they usually beat up on them (Eagles, Giants, Lions, Dolphins, etc).
Pick: Cowboys (-3)
