Odell Beckham Jr. issued arrest warrant for officer butt slap

Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has an arrest warrant out due to him slapping the butt of a police officer in the locker room following LSU’s championship win over Clemson on Monday night.

Beckham Jr., who went to school at LSU, celebrated along with the team on the sideline and in the locker room. He passed out cash, maybe fake, maybe not, to players after the game and apparently gave an New Orleans Police Department officer a nice whack on the behind, as seen in the video here:

The simple battery charge likely isn’t enough to cause much trouble for Beckham Jr., but it does put into question the common sense behind this arrest warrant. Unless something else happened after the above video, this should be a story for The Onion rather than real-life, especially after officers told LSU players they would be arrested if they didn’t stop smoking cigars in the locker room after the game.

There’s no doubt Beckham Jr. was intoxicated and stupid, but it’s hard to see much of a threat to the officer in the above video.
