Complete list of opponents for the Buffalo Bills in 2020

The Buffalo Bills were one of the NFL’s more pleasant surprises this year, rebounding from a 6-10 season to claim an AFC wild card berth. Despite cutting LeSean McCoy and failing to add an elite receiver, Buffalo improved significantly. They came up short in a Wild Card round loss to the Houston Texans, but they were one of the more entertaining teams this past season.

Josh Allen’s completion percentage is still a work in progress, but he has increased his passing yardage from last season by over 1,000 yards while doubling his number of touchdown passes. Part of that is because of two key additions at wide receiver in John Brown and Cole Beasley. But Allen might need more firepower on offense to make Buffalo even more of a threat.

Offseason Needs

While the Bills receiving corps has improved quite a bit, it’s still lacking one thing. Size. Brown and Beasley can both be dynamic playmakers, but both are shorter than six feet tall. In fact, Beasley and the team’s WR3, Isaiah McKenzie, are both 5-8. Adding a player that can be a jump ball asset would add versatility to to Buffalo’s offense. Josh Allen has a cannon for an arm so a player who can really get vertical in the end zone would cater to his strengths.

Allen could also benefit from an upgrade at tight end, as rookie Dawson Knox ranks 21st at the position in receiving yards (388) this year. He still has time to get better, but having an consistent escape outlet to throw to underneath the deep coverage of opposing defenses could help Allen’s completion.

2020 opponents

The 2019 NFL season is coming to a close and while the playoffs are just arriving, it’s time to start looking ahead to 2020. We won’t know the full regular season schedule until April, but even with the 2019 season not finished, we know each team’s list of opponents. The NFL has a formula they use to determine opponents, with divisions and conferences rotating each year.

The Bills face their divisional opponents a total of six times. The AFC East faces the AFC West, which adds four more opponents. The AFC East faces the NFC West, which adds four more opponents. The final two opponents are the teams that finish in the same standing position in the AFC North and AFC South.
