The NFL wrapped up the Wild Card round over the weekend, and with it, four teams were eliminated from the race for Super Bowl 54. The Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints were all eliminated over the weekend, and that means their spot in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is officially settled.
Here is a full list of the draft order of the top 24 teams with those four additions:
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Washington
- Detroit Lions
- New York Giants
- Miami Dolphins
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Carolina Panthers
- Arizona Cardinals
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Cleveland Browns
- New York Jets
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Indianapolis Colts
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Denver Broncos
- Atlanta Falcons
- Dallas Cowboys
- Miami Dolphins (via Pittsburgh Steelers)
- Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago Bears)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (via Los Angeles Rams)
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Buffalo Bills
- New England Patriots
- New Orleans Saints
The Patriots are regular traders in the draft, so they could very well end up moving back from pick No. 23. However, based on the first draft order at the end of the season, this is the highest they’ll be picking in over a decade. The last time they used their own pick this high was in 2006 when they drafted running back Laurence Maroney. One has to wonder if they make a play for a quarterback even if Tom Brady decides to return.
