Justin Herbert picking up steam early vs. Saints on Monday Night Football

Justin Herbert is off to a strong start in the Los Angeles Chargers’ Week 5 game against the New Orleans Saints. The rookie quarterback has thrown for two scores early in the Monday Night matchup and has helped his team build a 13-3 lead.

Herbert is 9-of-12 passing for 106 yards and two scores midway through the second quarter of the matchup and has thrown touchdown passes to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Herbert also hurled a bomb to Jalen Guyton.

Hebert appears to be unfazed by the tough defense he’s up against an has been able to extend plays with his legs. He’s on track to post another strong stat line in his fourth NFL start.

UPDATE: The Chargers picked off Drew Brees and set themselves up in a goal to go situation. Herbert threw his third touchdown of the first half, connecting with Hunter Henry.
