The Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled to figure out their kicker position, bringing in Jon Brown this week as their fifth kicker of the season. He’s off to a solid start in the Week 6 contest against the Detroit Lions, converting his first field goal attempt to cut the Lions lead to 7-3.
Normally a converted field goal wouldn’t be a big deal, but Brown is of particular note. The field goal attempt was his first field goal attempt ever at any level. He played football in high school as a wide receiver and kick returner. He played soccer in college and then picked up kickoff duties.
Brown has bounced around NFL offseason and practice squad rosters, but Sunday was his first opportunity of any kind in the NFL. Huge congrats to the kicker!
We’ll get some video of the kick, but for now here’s some video of his pregame workout.
