Nick Chubb runs out of bounds at end of game, costs fantasy managers, Browns bettors

This stings for some folks.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (24) runs the ball against the Houston Texans during the first quarter at FirstEnergy Stadium.  Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

This one’s gonna sting for those of us who had the Cleveland Browns at -3.5 and others who had Nick Chubb starting in their fantasy football lineups.

The Browns were running out the clock and Nick Chubb broke out for what would have been a 60 yard touchdown run. Instead, he did the wise thing and ran out of bounds at the 1-yard line. It allowed the Browns to take a knee and run out the clock rather than give the Texans the ball back with a chance for some kind of crazy miracle.

It was the smart play, but it was also frustrating for those with a financial interest. The Browns were 3.5-point favorites but gave up a late touchdown to the Texans. It was 10-7 and the Browns got the ball back with 4:59 to go. It was enough time to break through for a score, but alas it did not happen.

I didn’t start Chubb in any fantasy leagues, but I did have the Browns -3.5. Sad face emoji.
