How to watch, what to watch for Panthers vs. Packers in Week 15

The Carolina Panthers will try to snap the Green Bay Packers’ three-game winning streak when they play on Saturday night in Week 15.

The Panthers (4-9) are now on a two-game losing streak after they lost 32-27 to the Denver Broncos last week. Carolina’s defense got absolutely ripped to shreds by quarterback Drew Lock, who completed 21-of-27 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns. Two of his touchdown passes went rookie wide receiver K.J. Hamler, who also had 86 receiving yards.

Offensively, Teddy Bridgewater completed 30-of-40 passes for 283 yards. While he did not have a single passing touchdown, Bridgewater did have a rushing touchdown. Running back Mike Davis, who was starting in place of Christian McCaffrey, had 51 rushing yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns.

As for the Packers (10-3), they currently hold the top seed in the NFC playoffs as they defeated the Detroit Lions 31-24 last week. MVP candidate quarterback Aaron Rodgers was dialed in as he threw three touchdowns and ran for a touchdown. One of his touchdown passes went to superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, which were a part of his seven receptions for 115 yards. Adams now has a touchdown in eight-straight games and back-to-back 100-yard receiving games.

Fantasy football start/sit advice

Panthers

Christian McCaffrey, RB, $9,000

This season has been tough for both McCaffrey and fantasy football managers. He missed a significant amount of this season with an ankle injury and then made his return on Nov. 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs. But McCaffrey immediately went back on the injury with a quad injury that has sidelined him for the last two games. If he’s available to play that will give the Panthers’ a much better chance to win against a Packers’ defense that is allowing 143 scrimmage yards per game running backs.

Robby Anderson, WR, $6,200

If D.J. Moore is cleared and activated off of the reserve/COVID-19 list that should give Robby Anderson a more favorable matchup on the outside. But if Moore doesn’t play, then Anderson slot backs into the WR1 spot for Carolina. Last week, the speedy wideout had eight receptions (12 targets) for 84 yards against the Broncos. On Saturday, he’ll be likely matched up against one of the top-tier cornerbacks in the league in Jaire Alexander.

Packers

Davante Adams, WR, $9,400

The Panthers’ secondary had issues defending K.J. Hamler last week, which spells good news for one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Davante Adams has been a touchdown-scoring machine since Week 6. Adams has eight-straight games with at least a touchdown and three games in the last four weeks, where he recorded at least 100 yards. Now he’ll be facing a Panthers’ defense that is allowing 22 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, $7,800

Just like Adams, Aaron Rodgers is a must-start this week as he’s been electrifying this season. In Green Bay’s last three games, he has 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions. The last time he threw an interception was in Week 11. As previously mentioned, Drew Lock torched this Panthers’ secondary. Just imagine what Rodgers could do as he tries to tighten the race for the MVP.
