The Kansas City Chiefs slogged through Sunday night, but still came out on top over the Denver Broncos 22-16 and clinched a playoff berth.
The Chiefs are firmly on a path to become the first team since the 2004-05 New England Patriots. They currently sit at 10-1 with the second seed, while the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to play this week. With just one bye week for the No. 1 seed, those two teams will fight tooth and nail to win that week off.
The Chiefs only loss this season came against the Raiders in Week 5. That loss has them still waiting at least one more week before they can clinch the AFC West, as the Raiders kept themselves in the picture with a last second win over the winless Jets.
To finish off the season, the Chiefs will face the Dolphins, Saints, Falcons and Chargers. The Steelers take on Washington Monday, and then the Bills, Bengals, Colts and Browns. Neither team has a cake walk to that No. 1 seed, but are good enough to be favored in every game left.
Ahead of 2020 season, DraftKings Sportsbook posted the Saints at -100 to make the playoffs. So, there won’t be any bettors throwing any parties tonight!
