Drew Brees planning another year with the Saints

The Saints might have gotten a big break with Drew Brees indicating he’ll be back for another season.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is scheduled to hit the open market when free agency opens in March, but if his Instagram is to be believed, he probably won’t reach the market. Brees is in Hawaii for some down time and posted a picture with the caption: “My feelings about the 2020 season! I look forward to the grind and the journey, for the reward at the end will be worth it!!! Love you #WhoDatNation. Let’s make another run at it!”

It would have been a sizable upset to see Brees depart New Orleans, so this is not a shocking revelation. The bigger question is what this means for Taysom Hill. Hill is a restricted free agent this offseason, and there have been rumblings one or more teams might make a run at him with a sizable offer sheet. He has limited snaps in an emergency and gadget quarterback role, but that has not stopped people from projecting him out as a potential starter.

If Brees gets a deal done and returns to the Saints, they will enter 2020 as the NFC South favorites.
