The NFL announced the complete 2020 schedule on Thursday evening, and the Los Angeles Rams will kick off their 2020 season with a Sunday Night Football home game against the Dallas Cowboys. Their first divisional game will be in Week 6 when they travel to face the San Francisco 49ers on SNF.
The Rams weren’t able to find success in the NFC West last season after winning the division in 2018. While they still had a dynamic group of skill players across the board, Jared Goff and Todd Gurley II were far from peak performance. Los Angeles finished in third place in 2019, behind the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams haven’t been able to make significant moves toward improvement so far this offseason. They traded Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans and released Gurley. They’ll likely have to depend on Tyler Higbee and wideouts a little more than usual in 2020 without a dependable running back in the backfield. Cam Akers and Van Jefferson have a chance to be impact rookies and keep the offense explosive. Jalen Ramsey is expected to be a rock in the secondary, but losing Nickell Robey-Coleman and Dante Fowler Jr. could affect the defensive side of the ball.
All times listed are Eastern.
