UPDATE, Sep 2 9:18 p.m.: Leonard Fournette has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will compete with Ronald Jones, LeSean McCoy, and Ke’Shawn Vaughn in the backfield.
A strong piece of advice to adhere to in fantasy football is to never take fantasy advice from a player. That being said, the Buccaneers new running back, LeSean McCoy, is excited to pick himself and starting running back Ronald Jones in fantasy this season:
FANTASY ALERT: "Oh I'm excited. I'm definitely going to pick up myself and ROJO in fantasy this year." - LeSean McCoy on how RBs have success catching the ball with Brady.— James Palmer (@JamesPalmerTV) August 27, 2020
When giving his fantasy advice, McCoy was answering questions about Tom Brady and his ability to get the ball to his running backs through the air, which was a hallmark of his time with the Patriots. We saw Jones grow in that department last season, after not being a factor as a receiver in college. It will be interesting to see how much time McCoy will see on the field, but he likely will be used as a receiver more than as a lead back, which looks to be Jones’ job.
McCoy also had high praise for his teammate Jones:

With Ke’Shawn Vaughn missing some of training camp and the addition of McCoy, it appears the rookie is buried in the depth chart for now. He will get his chances at some point, but it likely won’t happen early in the season. Jones is the only back we can feel good about in fantasy at this time.
