Patriots-Seahawks on track to play with air quality improving

The Patriots and Seahawks are scheduled to play Sunday evening in Week 2, but the Air Quality Index has had some issues. We break down where it stands on game day.

The Seattle Seahawks are scheduled to host the New England at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington on Sunday Night Football in Week. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET, and everything appears on track to happen tonight.

This is notable because of concerns surrounding the fires in Washington. The Air Quality Index had been shaky in recent days, climbing up north of 200 earlier this week. The Seattle Mariners had to move their series with the San Francisco Giants last week down to San Francisco because of the smoke.

However, as of Sunday morning, the air appears to be clearing out considerably. The latest AQI is down in the teens after rain appears to have cleaned up the air. The NFL requires a game be postponed or relocated if the AQI is over 200, but barring a shift in the next 10 hours, it appears the game will be fine to go on as planned.
