Sean Payton gets slimed to celebrate Wild Card win in Nickelodeon game

The head coach of the Saints finally gets penalized for the bounty gate scandal everyone seems to have forgotten about nine years ago.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton promised he would allow himself to get slimed if his team won their Wild Card game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. And with the easy victory, Payton was true to his word and allowed himself to get covered in the green stuff that is the signature of the Nickelodeon network.

Nickelodeon offered a secondary broadcast the game that was focused on a younger audience, with virtual slime guns going off anytime a player scored a touchdown, and the field goal uprights backed by SpongeBob Squarepants during kicks.

The Saints were 21-9 winners on Sunday in the Superdome, and will advance to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday for a spot in the NFC Championship Game. No word on whether the head man of the team from the Crescent City has any other stunts lined up to keep his team motivated.

The Saints are currently 3.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook.
