After a 31-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on the field he now calls home, Tom Brady was on stage accepting his fifth Super Bowl MVP trophy when he answered a question that many were wondering with just four words:
“Yeah, we’re coming back.”

For Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, it made an amazing celebration of the franchise’s second Super Bowl victory even better. Brady signed a two-year, $50 million contract as a free agent in March of last year, so he’d be under the Bucs control anyway.
That deal could be reworked to help keep the core of the Buccaneers together, and extend out any signing bonuses into additional years to help keep the team under the salary cap.
But for now, it’s clear the man with more Super Bowl victories than any other person or franchise in NFL history wants to come back in 2021. Brady was the last quarterback to win back-to-back Super Bowls in 2003-04 with the New England Patriots.
Could he do it again in his mid-40’s? After tonight’s performance, betting against him might not be the best idea.
