New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will be ready for the 2021 NFL season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Barkley tore his ACL in Week 2 of last season against the Bears. That early injury made it likely he would be ready for this year, but Giants fans and fans of football will be happy to hear he is on track.
Barkley’s absence hurt the Giants, as he was instant offense both on the ground and through the air. His return will be a much needed addition for quarterback Daniel Jones, as he begins a make it or break it year.
The Giants also added veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph and No. 1 receiver Kenny Golladay this offseason. With the 2021 NFL Draft right around the corner, New York should beef up their offensive line, giving Jones his best shot at success. General manager Dave Gettleman’s future should be tied to Jones’ 2021 season.
