UPDATE: Jay Glazer thinks this is about more than just his contract situation. This comes as Pro Football Talk is reporting a deal could get done this weekend. This is certainly escalating quickly.
Aaron told Packers he doesn’t want to return as @AdamSchefter said and I think it’s more than a contract deal, I think he’s pretty strongly convicted that he doesn’t want to go back to Packers.— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) April 29, 2021
UPDATE: Ian Rapoport is reporting the unhappiness comes down to his contract. He is signed through 2023 and his agent has been working on an extension that thus far has not panned out.
UPDATE: DraftKings Sportsbook has pulled NFC North odds and Packers win total odds for the time being.
The NFL is on tilt as the 2021 NFL Draft arrives and it’s only getting crazier. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Aaron Rodgers is unhappy with the Green Bay Packers and it is at such a level that he does not want to play for the team in 2021.
Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 29, 2021
More on NFL Live now....
The Packers have received calls about the QB, with the 49ers reportedly the latest on Wednesday. Green Bay has declined all calls about the three-time MVP, but that might have to change at some point if this report is to be believed.
This comes a year removed from the Packers spending a first-round pick on quarterback Jordan Love. The team has needed to upgrade the skill positions around Rodgers, but did not do so to a significant degree a year ago and there have been rumors of displeasure off and on since.
The Packers currently have the sixth best odds to win the Super Bowl at DraftKings Sportsbook. They’re listed at +1400 and are tied with the Buffalo Bills. They have the third best odds in the NFC behind the Bucs and Rams.
