The NFL announced the complete 2021 schedule on Wednesday, May 12, and the Arizona Cardinals are officially set to kick off their 2021 season September 12th against the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. ET. Their first divisional game will be in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks at home.
The Cardinals upped their record in 2020 to 8-8 after going 5-10-1 the previous season, and 3-13 the season prior. But, after a strong 6-3 start, missing the playoffs was still a let down. This offseason, Arizona added DE J.J. Watt, WR A.J. Green, C Rodney Hudson and CB Malcolm Butler, but lost CB Patrick Peterson and LB Haason Reddick. The team spent its first round pick on Zaven Collins to pair with Isaiah Simmons on defense. We’ll see how those moves pay off, but all signs point to Kyler Murray and friends still competing for a playoff spot this season. If not, it will be a disappointment in the desert.
