The NFL announced the complete 2021 schedule on Wednesday, May 12, and the Dallas Cowboys are officially set to kick off their 2021 season in Tampa Bay against the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football (Thursday edition). Their first divisional game will be in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles at home.
The Cowboys finally have their quarterback situation figured out after years of offseason speculation regarding what they would do with Dak Prescott. Earlier this offseason, the two sides agreed to a six-year deal to keep him in Dallas. Prescott suffered a gruesome leg injury in 2020, and four quarterbacks started games at quarterback for the Cowboys including Prescott, Andy Dalton, Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert. It was a bit of a lost season with Dallas finishing 6-10, though just one game behind the division champ. The Cowboys went all defense with their first six picks of the NFL Draft, highlighted by former Penn State Nittany Lions linebacker Micah Parsons. Dallas should be in contention for the playoffs in Year 2 under head coach Mike McCarthy.
All times listed are Eastern.
