The NFL announced the complete 2021 schedule on Wednesday, May 12, and the Los Angeles Chargers are officially set to kick off their 2021 season against the Washington Football Team on the road at 1 PM. Their first divisional game will be in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.

The Chargers lost six of their first eight games to kick off the 2020 season. Justin Herbert stepped into the starting quarterback job in Week 2 after a team doctor punctured Tyrod Taylor’s lungs and didn’t look back. The rookie improved as the season went on. He tallied an impressive 4,336 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns with just 10 picks. Herbert got better as the year went on and helped Los Angeles finish third in the AFC West with a 7-9 record. A healthy season from Austin Ekeler and a few key additions on defense could help the Chargers avoid enduring a lengthy rebuild.

All times listed are Eastern.
