A new team has emerged in the sweepstakes for Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.

The Seahawks have had trade discussions with the Falcons for Jones, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini. Jones has also reportedly had conversations with Seattle QB Russell Wilson about the possibility of teaming up in the nFC West.

One potential roadblock for a deal is Seattle not having a 2022 first-round pick due to the Jamal Adams trade, but the Falcons are better off looking for a high draft pick down the line. The Seahawks can also add Tyler Lockett in a deal for Jones if they don’t want to give up too much draft compensation. Lockett has been productive in Seattle with consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, but Jones would represent a clear upgrade if healthy.

The Seahawks weren’t among the teams listed on the latest odds involving Jones, but they’ll likely find themselves in the next conversation after Russini’s report.
