Jakobi Meyers scores TD against Eagles in Week 2 NFL preseason

Jakobi Meyers was the New England Patriots leading receiver in 2020 with 59 receptions for 729 yards, but couldn’t find the end zone one time. That changed in Week 2 of the preseason at least, as he caught three passes for 56 yards and that ever elusive touchdown. Of course, he still needs a regular season score, but that should come this year. He was Newton’s favorite target in this game with the first team and it paid off with the 28-yard touchdown strike.

Meyers has been the best receiver in camp according to multiple reports and should be the No. 1 wide receiver target for Cam Newton or Mac Jones this season. The Patriots as a whole should be better this year offensively and defensively. Meyers makes for a nice late round fantasy pick, but this game could start moving his average draft position higher. The good news is that it’s so high right now that he should remain a value.
