It didn’t look great, as the Arizona Cardinals offense couldn’t move the ball with much success in the first half of their Week 2 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. They had just 25 total yards with Kyler Murray in the game, so we can’t glean much from how their running backs performed in this matchup. But, we did see Chase Edmonds get the start while James Conner didn’t see time until the second drive.
Edmonds had one run for three yards while Conner had two attempts for just one yard. We can’t get much from their production here, but we can see that Edmonds is the lead back at this point in the preseason.
His ability as a receiver should help him see the majority of the usage as long as he’s seeing work with the first team. Conner’s injury history has made him a long shot for fantasy football as it was, but if Edmonds continues as the No. 1 back, he should have plenty of fantasy value this season.
