Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers “definitely” would’ve taken the role of Jeopardy! host if offered the gig, he said in an interview with Adam Schein of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio. Rodgers was a guest host on the program while the show searched for a permanent replacement for Alex Trebek.
Jeopardy! had announced Mike Richards, who was also the show’s executive producer, as the replacement host with Mayim Bialik hosting the spin-off tournaments and other special programming surrounding the show. After a Ringer piece detailing Richards’ past actions from “The Price is Right” and other shows, Jeopardy! decided to make a change and is now once again in the search for a permanent host. The show will have guest hosts to start the new season.
Rodgers, who is entering what is likely his final year with the Packers after a dramatic offseason where he requested to be traded and threatened to sit out the season, is now once again in position to be considered for the gig. He would have to work it into his demanding football schedule, but the quarterback said he would find a way to make it work if offered the chance.
