The Buffalo Bills will look to build on their 13-3 season and run to the AFC championship game last year, with QB Josh Allen and WR Stefon Diggs forming a potent passing combination. Buffalo’s running game is improving, with Devin Singletary and Zack Moss both vying for the starting role while Matt Brieda represents a change-of-pace option.

Devin Singletary and Zack Moss Week 2 preseason stats

Singletary - 2 carries, 21 yards, 1 TD, 1 reception, 5 yards
Moss - 4 carries, 21 yards

Analysis

Both players saw limited touches, although Singletary got into the end zone. Moss appears to have a role in the backfield, but could be the secondary running back. Also worth noting for fans and bettors is Brieda’s utility. The change-of-pace option saw five carries and also had a reception.

Fantasy implications

This is a tricky backfield to navigate for fantasy football players, but it appears all three running backs are going to get opportunities with Singletary and Moss being more likely to eventually secure the lead job. Having both players on your roster ensures you’ll get the starter, but that designation may not take place until the season is a few weeks old. This is a tough battle to gauge.
