The Vikings have two top receivers in Justin Jefferson and Adan Thielen and an up and coming tight end in Irv Smith Jr., but they’ve had trouble finding a strong third receiver. Their 2020 fifth-round draft pick K.J. Osborn.
Stats
Three receptions for 68 yards.
Analysis
Osborn made a nice 32-yard toe tapping grab on the sidelines in this matchup against the Chiefs that for sure helped his chances of seeing work early in the season for the Vikings. Osborn has shown marked improvement this summer and appears set to make the team after a poor rookie season where he was not good as a returner. But he is now in the running for the WR3 job in Minnesota.
Free agent pickup Dede Westbrook could take that job over when he gets healthy and Chad Beebe is especially suited for the slot, but Osborn has made it tough on the coaching staff for sure.
