The 49ers are currently in first place of the NFC West, holding a two game lead over the Seahawks. San Francisco brings a six-game winning streak into this matchup despite turning to its third-string quarterback in the last two contests. With top signal-callers Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo injured, the 49ers will continue to start rookie QB Brock Purdy. The Iowa State product looked sharp in San Francisco’s 35-7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, going 16-for-21 with 185 passing yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Purdy added a rushing touchdown as well. He’ll look to keep San Francisco’s momentum in this divisional clash on Thursday Night Football.
Heading into this Week 15 matchup, the Seahawks hold a 7-6 record on the season. That puts Seattle half a game behind the Washington Commanders and New York Giants (both at 7-5-1) for a wild card spot in the NFC. In other words, the Seahawks have some work to do in order to qualify for the postseason. Seattle has dropped three of its last four outings, and a 24-30 home loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday raises some questions as to the Seahawks’ competitiveness to finish out the season. They’ll look to bounce back in this home date with the 49ers.
The 49ers opened as a 3.5 point road favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under is listed at 43.5 total points.
