The Seattle Kraken will fill out the bulk of their new roster on Wednesday, July 21st when they pick one player from 30 of the 31 NHL teams in the 2021 Expansion Draft. The event gets started at 8 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN2.
The Kraken will add 30 players, although it is possible they do some dealing ahead of time for some of those slots. If prior to the draft the Kraken sign a free agent who was not on a team’s protected list, the player would take up the slot for that team.
Additionally, the Kraken will not select a player from the Vegas Golden Knights. The latter reached a deal when they joined the league in 2017 that they would not be subject to the next expansion draft.
Here is a full list of players available to the Kraken. They will need to select at least 14 forwards, nine defensemen, and three goalies.
