Full fencing schedule for Monday, July 26th in the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics

We take a look at the full fencing schedule for Monday, July 26th at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

Mariel Zagunis of the United States will look to bring home her third gold medal in the women’s sabre event at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Monday morning in Tokyo, and fans can start watching as soon as 8:55 p.m. ET on Sunday night.

The champion from both Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, Zagunis is America’s first-ever American to win a gold medal in any kind of fencing. The five-time Olympian is a Notre Dame alumni, and was the USA flag bearer in London in 2012. She is currently +1200 to win a third at DraftKings Sportsbook,

Joining her is Princeton graduate Eliza Stone, who was the bronze medalist at the 2018 World Championships, and is the reigning gold medalist in this event at the Pan Am Games. Stone is +2000 to win the gold medal at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the Ukraine’s Olga Kharlan the favorite at +125.

On the men’s side, the foil event takes place as well. Gerek Meinhardt of the USA is the second-choice to win at +600. The bronze medalist in Rio in 2016, he was the youngest ever winner of the U.S. Fencing National Championships at age 16 in 2007. Also a Notre Dame grad, the 2019 world champion in foil is an underdog only to Alessio Foconi of Italy who is +220.
