2021 Olympic swimming results: Team USA wins 4x100 freestyle yet again

The Americans dominance of the relay events on the men’s side continues.

The United States has won yet again the Olympic 4x100 meter freestyle relay, this time in comfortable fashion. But perhaps the biggest surprise is the failure of the second-choice ROC team, who finished a disappointing seventh after only qualifying for the final by .04 seconds with a poor semifinal run as well.

While the USA was a full five seconds behind their own world record, they held the race comfortably from the horn to the final touch. The team of Caeleb Dressel (47.26), Blake Pieroni (47.58), Bowen Becker (47.44), and Zach Apple (46.69) continued America’s domination of the event. It should foretell another dominating performance in the team events at these Games.

Team USA was a -300 favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook followed by ROC at +350. Here are the complete results.

  1. USA: 3:08.97 (-300)
