Italy's Marcell Jacobs wins gold in Tokyo 100-meter dash

We have a new fastest man!

The 100-meter dash is often used to ascribe the label "world's fastest man" and while it is probably not the most accurate label, it still gives the rave a certain gravitas. This year at the Tokyo Olympics, we had a stunner.

Italian sprinter Marcell Jacobs took home the gold with a 9.80 run. American Fred Kerley took home silver with a 9.84 and Canadian Andre De Grasse took bronze with a 9.89. Usain Bolt retains the world and Olympics records of 9.58 and 9.63.

Jacobs is the first Italian boy only to win the 100m, but to even make the final. You can watch the race here:
