NFL: New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

You may know me as Jim Cramer, the stock guy, the host of “Mad Money” on CNBC who has spent 15 years educating you on how to pick stocks the professional way. But what you may not know about me is that I am a rabid football fan and a fantasy football player dating back to 1981.

With my partner from BullMarketFantasy.com, Bill Enright, the man I call the Profit — yeah, with an f cause I am a money guy — we are diving in headfirst to the world of DFS on DraftKings.

The similarities between the stock market and daily fantasy sports are uncanny. While I can’t gamble or own stocks for that matter, I like to teach and I like to entertain and I have to tell you that my approach to playing DFS is the same as my approach to building wealth in the stock market. Discipline is discipline no matter what the trading venue. Steady and disciplined long-term investing with calculated, well-researched based decision making, that’s what we do.

I know it seems anomalous, but the things I teach — diversification; don’t swing for the fences; go for smaller, less-risky profits where the money can build over time so you don’t get blown out — these are exactly what will help do well in DraftKings cash games and 50/50s. Steadily building a bankroll over the course of a season and making a profit along the way, that’s the way it’s done whether it be at Berkshire Hathaway or at DraftKings Sportsbook.

While I may be new to playing on DraftKings, my knowledge of the players coupled with Bill’s insights make us what I think is an unbeatable team. I want to help you win your DraftKings cash game contests, I want to help you set your lineups. Just like I want to help you set up a proper portfolio. Oh, and to be sure, if I think there’s something I have a real edge on, something that I believe is worth making a more serious wager on, I will be sure to flag it with the info you need to feel confident about the call.

And always remember: Some people are trying to make friends, I’m just here to help you make some money!

EDITOR’S NOTE: Sunday’s Patriots-Chiefs game has been postponed, with the game scheduled to be played Monday night at 7:05 p.m. ET.

For Week 4, I along with my BMF crew, suggest the following players:

QB

Cash

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins, $7,800 — Forget about never receiving a single vote for NFL MVP, that’s going to change in 2020 because Wilson has 14 TDs in three games, the most scores by any passer — yes, even more than Patrick Mahomes’ magical 2018 season. Lock and load Wilson against the Dolphins, who are likely going to be without one of their top cornerbacks in Byron Jones.

GPP

Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants, $6,700 — With five TDs in his past two games, Goff’s scoring has seen a steady rise since Week 1, going from 11.5 to 23.98 to 31.24 DKFP. Now he faces a Giants defense that looks like it belongs in the SEC instead of the NFL.

RB

Cash

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions, $8,000 — Without Michael Thomas in the lineup, Kamara soaked up 13 catches for 139 yards and two scores in Week 3. Combine that with his 58 yards on the ground and it’s no surprise to see he’s the most expensive active running back for the week. But he’s worth it and now he gets a Lions defense that has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to running backs and another week without Thomas in the lineup, which means another week of double-digit targets.

GPP

Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $5,800 — Mixon is off to a slow start, but the Bengals have abandoned the run game because they typically trail early. No need to worry about that happening against the Jags.

WR

Cash

DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins, $6,800 — Metcalf is like Johnson and Johnson. Best in breed. A Blue Chip! Sometimes you have to pay up to get a stud, but they are worth it. Metcalf has scored each game this year and hasn’t had less than 90 yards. That streak continues against Miami.

GPP

Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants, $6,300 — Love the QB. Love the matchup. Love the wide receiver who scored 20 or more DKFP in two of his three games this year.

TE

Cash

T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions vs. New Orleans Saints, $4,800 — DraftKings Sportsbook is expecting offensive fireworks in this Saints-Lions battle with an O/U of 54 points. New Orleans is struggling against tight ends — remember that insane performance by Darren Waller on Monday Night? Look for the second-year playmaker to find the end zone and net his highest yardage total of the season.

GPP

Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns, $4,300 — Sixteen targets the past two weeks and the Browns are giving up a lot of receptions to tight ends. Twenty-two of them in fact, which is the third-most in the league.

DST

Cash

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Chargers, $3,400 — While Tom Brady and Mike Evans are getting all the love, the Tampa Bay defense has sneakily scored 18 and 14 DKFP the past two weeks. Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles loves to dial up unique blitz packages, especially when a rookie quarterback is under center.

GPP

Houston Texans vs. Minnesota Vikings, $2,500 — Is this a pure punt play or an amazing play in disguise? You be the judge. But considering the Vikings had to spend a few days away from their facility and missed precious practice and preparation time due to a COVID-19 scare for their Week 3 opponent the Titans, the Texans may finally have a game that proves they are much better than their 0-3 record suggests.

Remember, a Guaranteed Prize Pool, aka GPP, is more like options trading — very high risk but yielding tremendous rewards. A cash game is more like investing in a mutual fund — a safer approach, but with smaller profits.

Best of luck in Week 4, BOO-YAH!
