Games from the DreamHack Open are coming rapidly. Three more on Wednesday make up the DraftKings main slate. We take a look at some considerations for Captain and the FLEX positions for your roster.
A good example of why NiKo is so important was evident in the previous game. FaZe was beaten 2-1 by Godsent. If you looked at NiKo’s stats, you wouldn’t be blamed for assuming FaZe won without dropping a map. He had 71 kills and 52 deaths with a kill/death ratio of +19 and an average damage per round of 87.7. He had a round with four AK kills in the first map and followed that up with a 1v2 clutch win in the second map.
Others to consider: device ($14,700)
High-priced FLEX Options
All five Astralis players had a positive kill/death ratio in a convincing thrashing of Godsent on Tuesday. The least productive was device, who had 29 kills and 26 deaths with an ADR of 79.2. He wasn’t needed much in that game, but will be on Wednesday against Fnatic. He has been in great form in the last few weeks. That should continue through this week.
The reason for mantuu’s selection is two-fold. One, he is a safe hedge because he is easily OG’s most potent offensive weapon. Two, he is a fantastic player, particularly with long-range weapons and the AWP. He had 59 kills and 51 deaths in a 2-1 loss to Fnatic in OG’s previous game with a game-leading KAST of 80.5%.
There is a case to move huNter- into the value category at this price. There is no reason his price should have dropped so dramatically for a matchup against OG. Nonetheless, that presents an opportunity to draft him at a bargain. His form has been stellar, too. Despite a 2-1 loss to BIG on Tuesday, he had 69 kills and 57 deaths with an average damage per round of 81.9.
Others to consider: magisk ($9,200)
Value FLEX Options
His value can move up and down like a risky company on the stock exchange because there are far too many variables with coldzera’s style of play. He absolutely thrives in close-range situations, with the pistol or the Glock. However, that preferred manner of play leads to several quick deaths. He is coming into to this game on the back of a solid game against Godsent, in which he had 56 kills and 50 deaths, including an ace in the final map.
Here’s another player that should certainly be considered purely because of his fantastic price. He has been amazing with long-range weapons, whether it be rifling or even handling the AWP. He managed the AWP excellently on Tuesday against BIG. He finished with a commendable 71 kills — highest on G2 and second-highest among both teams. He might not repeat that here, but there is definite value in this selection.
Others to consider: Brollan ($7,000)
