Last week’s ZOZO Championship was one of the more closely contested events of 2020, and it involved a tight finish between three of the world’s best players. Patrick Cantlay came away with the victory at 23-under, barely edging out both Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm at 22-under. For the Bermuda Championship, the field won’t be as loaded as it was the previous week, but there are still plenty of well-known golfers participating.

Leading the way in both bets and handle on DraftKings Sportsbook is Doc Redman, a name that we’ve seen atop this list in a few of the more obscure PGA TOUR events. Redman tends to get a lot of betting traction in second-tier tournaments, and it’s easy to see why. Redman recently finished 3rd at the Safeway Open and 3rd at the Wyndham Championship, so he’s shown the capability to surge to the top of leaderboards at least in recent events. Redman also has more enticing betting odds than some of the other similarly popular names, with Will Zalatoris and Brendon Todd most notably ahead of him.
For the first round leader market, DraftKings Sportsbook bettors are gravitating towards a player in Harold Varner who has tended to play his best golf in the opening round of tournaments. Varner shot a first round 63 in his most recent event at the Shriners Hosptials for Children Open, and he shot a first round 62 a few months prior at the Wyndham Championship. Varner is one of the best players in this week’s field and one of the most popular bets overall, but the first round in particular is where he’s been at his best and bettors seem to be buying into this trend.
In Top 10 betting, Redman and Varner move slightly down the list while Will Zalatoris rises to the top. Zalatoris only recently emerged as an up-and-comer on the PGA TOUR, but DraftKings Sportsbook bettors have caught on and he’s been one of the most popular bets in each of the recent events that he’s played in. The results have been there for Zalatoris as well, as he’s earned three Top 10’s in his last four events with the most impressive result coming in a sixth place finish at the U.S. Open. Zalatoris was dominant in 2020 while playing on the Korn Ferry Tour, so while his PGA TOUR experience is limited, he’s clearly shown a propensity for finding his way into the Top 10 on the leaderboard.
