English Premier League (EPL) Best Bets: Soccer Picks, Predictions to Consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for October 31 and November 1

With six rounds of fixtures in the book, there are no unbeaten teams left in the EPL after Aston Villa and Everton both picked up losses last weekend. Everton remains on top of the standings with champions Liverpool. Both clubs will be looking to collect three points this weekend when Everton travels to Newcastle and Liverpool hosts West Ham. Here are some bets that I think are worth considering on DraftKings Sportsbook for this weekend’s slate of games.

Sheffield United vs. Manchester City
Under 2.5 total goals (+155)

This will be the ninth EPL meeting between these two sides and in all of the previous eight, the total goals scored has been under 2.5 total goals. United has been one of the teams to have disappointed the most so far this season with just three goals scored in 540 minutes of action. Of those three goals scored, two have been from penalties. Manager Chris Wilder will be wondering how his side can add to their one and only goal from open play against a City team that has managed to keep just one shutout in their five fixtures played. After giving up the opening goal in their first five games, United managed to score first on their trip to Liverpool last time out, but lost the game. City had opened the scoring in their first four fixtures, but fell behind at West Ham before rescuing a point last weekend. United (+280) has yet to score first in an EPL game against City (-435) and they will hope that run comes to an end in this contest at Bramall Lane.

Liverpool vs. West Ham
Over 2.5 total goals (-250)

Liverpool has had things their own way in their meetings with West Ham in recent years. The Reds are unbeaten in the last eight encounters with the Hammers and a ninth could see them go top if Everton fails to win at Newcastle. If West Ham, who are unbeaten in their last four EPL games, can find a way to beat the champions, they are going to have to keep Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane quiet. Either of these two players would be solid additions to any DFS team as they have good history against this weekend’s opponents. Salah has six goals in his last six games against West Ham while Mane has five in five against the Hammers. Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to score in both halves (-122) for the sixth time in seven games and the fifth match in a row. There have been 29 total goals scored in Liverpool’s six league games this season with an average of 4.83 per game, and if the champions fail to register a clean sheet for the fifth successive game, then there could well be goals in this clash.

Newcastle vs. Everton
Both teams to score (-157)

Everton was the last team to lose this season and this weekend is all about how the Toffees respond to that loss at Southampton, which was the first time they failed to score. Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw his streak of five straight matches with at least one goal come to an end, but the good news for England’s newest striker is that he has a great record against Newcastle with four goals in his last three against the Magpies, including a goal on his last two visits to St James’ Park. Both teams to score (-157) has landed in the last four meetings between these two sides, and it has also occurred in Newcastle’s last four and in four of Everton’s last five, so that is certainly a bet worth looking at. Newcastle’s last six league goals against the Toffees have come in the second half, with four of them coming in the final 10 minutes. This season, in the final 10 minutes of games, Newcastle has scored three times and conceded five.

Tottenham vs. Brighton
Both teams to score (-150)

When Tottenham and Brighton meet, the home side has come out on top in seven of the last nine league and cup games and that includes the last three in the EPL. That is a good omen for Spurs, who have not trailed at halftime in the league so far this season. However, they won’t have things their own way against a well organized Brighton side. There hasn’t been a 0-0 tie in the last 19 meetings and that should be extended to 20. There should be goals here with BTTS landing in Brighton’s last four and in four of Tottenham’s last five. In their last three games, Jose Mourinho’s side has been quick out of the blocks, scoring five times within the first 16 minutes, but it’s at the end of games that Spurs have issues, as they have conceded five goals in the 80th minute or later in their last five. Brighton’s last five games have also produced late goals scored at both ends of the pitch in the final 10 minutes with four scored and two given up.

Leeds United vs. Leicester
Tie at half-time (+128)

For some reason, these two teams don’t like scoring first half goals. Leeds has failed to score before halftime in their last four contests, while Brendan Rodgers’ side has gone three games without a first half goal. Only two of Leicester’s 13 league goals scored have come in the first period, which is the biggest improvement of any team in the second half. Leeds ranks third in that category with eight of their 12 EPL goals scored after halftime. The scores have been tied at the half (+128) in both team’s last two, which is certainly a bet worth considering in this contest. Under 2.5 total goals is another bet to look at. The last four league meetings have failed to produce three or more goals, while BTTS has not paid out in either team’s last two contests. If there is to be a winner in this fixture, it might come in a low-scoring game.
