Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for November 17

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Tuesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

The DraftKings Dream Stream is back with another full day of Madden sims on Tuesday with six games scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening. The featured slate is the three-game classic contest that starts at 6:00 p.m. ET when the Jacksonville Jaguars travel to virtual Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. At 8:00 p.m. ET in primetime, the New York Giants take on the Minnesota Vikings, and the final game of the slate kicks off at 10:00 p.m. ET, featuring the New England Patriots visiting the Kansas City Chiefs in a Madden After Dark showdown.

An important note to remember is that each roster is not impacted by COVID-19 opt-outs or injuries, and the highest-rated options are at the top of the depth charts. The roster for each team includes all player movement that occurred prior to Week 1 of this season, and you can find the game settings, depth charts, abilities and X-factors for each team in Madden 21 along with the upcoming schedule on the Madden Stream info page.

Check out the daily DraftKings Madden Stream contests lobby with paid contests for real cash prizes now available alongside free contests. Each simulation will be played out computer vs. computer via an online Madden Stream using Madden 21. In this format, you can enjoy watching the game stream on the DraftKings YouTube channel, the DK Live app (download here) or right here in this post.

Quarterback

Stud

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots, $8,200 — Mahomes has been dominant in these sims, averaging over 24 DKFP per contest, which is why he’s worth considering paying all the way up for since no other QB on this slate has produced within five DKFP of that average. Mahomes has thrown 52 touchdowns and run for eight more in his 24 sims for an average of 2.5 touchdowns per game. He has added an impressive 287 passing yards per sim as well. In his most recent sim against the Patriots, Mahomes had 26.52 DKFP, and he has surpassed 21 DKFP in nine of his past 11 sims including each of his past three. He has an extremely high ceiling and has been relatively consistent, so consider building around the superstar QB, who is the only QB in these Madden sims with a perfect 99 overall rating.

Other Option — Aaron Rodgers ($6,800)

Value

Daniel Jones, New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings, $5,700 — Jones hasn’t been nearly as good as Mahomes, but he comes at such a deep discount that he allows you to stack the rest of your roster with high-priced plays and hope that Mahomes doesn’t go off for a huge number. Jones has flashed some upside, averaging 16.6 DKFP per sim with at least 17.9 DKFP in eight of his 20 sims in Madden 21. He has thrown 29 touchdowns and added three more on the ground while averaging 215.9 yards per contest. He has been a volatile option from game to game but did hit for over 25 DKFP in three straight games a few sims back, including a 32-DKFP game against the Bills. While he doesn’t usually reach that ceiling, if he does, the savings you get with him under $6K will allow you to fill out the rest of your roster with your pick of the top options at each position.

Other Option — Cam Newton ($6,000)

Running Back

Stud

Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants, $8,600 — As excellent as Mahomes has been compared to the other QBs on the slate, Cook has been just as good compared to the rest of the RBs available. Cook has totaled 24 touchdowns in just 20 sims while averaging 98.0 yards on the ground and 3.45 catches for 26.3 more yards per sim. He has hit the 100-yard bonus in eight of his past 11 sims and has found the end zone in nine straight sims coming into this favorable matchup with the Giants’ run defense. Cook has regularly been around the 30-DKFP threshold and went off for 38.0 DKFP two games ago with three touchdowns and 140 yards against the Texans. Lock him in to your top RB spot if you can save the salary for his hefty price tag, which is even a little bit more than Mahomes’ salary.

Other Options — Saquon Barkley ($7,900), Aaron Jones ($7,300)

Value

James White, New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs, $4,500 — There aren’t many timeshares on this slate offering value in the backfield, but the Patriots use both White and Sony Michel ($4,200) on a regular basis in these sims. If you roll with Michel, you’re counting on him getting touchdowns, but the Patriots only scored 14 points combined in their two earlier meetings with the Chiefs. If you pay the $300 in extra salary to get White, the production you’re reliant on is his PPR work, which has been much more reliable throughout this sim season. White hauled in seven catches in his two games against the Chiefs and has averaged 3.6 catches per sim, with at least three catches in 12 of his 13 most recent sims, including eight straight. White has also scored six touchdowns, so there is a little bit more of a ceiling with him than Michel along with less risk. He’s the best play under $6K at RB, and the two Patriots are the only affordable options at RB that aren’t just punting the position.

Other Option — Sony Michel ($4,200)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots, $7,700 — It’ll be fascinating to see if the Patriots’ virtual coaches decides to shadow Hill with 99 overall CB Stephon Gilmore or leave him matched up with their usual rotation of cover options in the slot. Hill’s 99 overall speed rating makes him a constant big-play threat with a high ceiling, and he has been outstanding in Madden 21 since he gets consistently high volume. In his 24 sims, he has averaged 6.1 catches for 87.8 yards per game and scored 20 touchdowns. He had one of those scores in his two previous games against New England, in which he totaled 14 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. He went off for 31.1 DKFP two sims ago against the Cowboys and had over 100 yards in his most recent sim against the Packers as well. He is a threat to go off for a monster game in any matchup, but even when he doesn’t, his high volume makes him a good enough play to consider paying up for.

Other Options — D.J. Chark Jr. ($6,700), Devin Funchess ($5,900)

Value

Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants, $5,300 — Thielen is the Vikings’ WR1 and usually does his work out of the slot, which should give him a huge advantage in this matchup with the Giants. Thielen hasn’t come near the volume of Hill but does have at least three catches in 19 of his 20 sims while averaging 4.3 catches for 51.7 yards per game while scoring a total of seven touchdowns. Thielen is a solid mid-range play to consider if you have the salary available.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Green Bay Packers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $3,600 — MVS had a huge game in real life on Sunday, and he has been a solid part of the Packers’ offense in these sims as their WR3 since the latest roster reshuffle. Valdes-Scantling has multiple receptions in seven straight sims and found the end zone in back-to-back games for 18.4 DKFP against the Giants and 19.2 DKFP against the Rams. After those two big games, he came back to earth with just 3.2 DKFP against the Chiefs, but I think he’s in a great bounce-back spot against the Jags and comes with a ton of upside to go with his minimal salary, which provides you flexibility at other spots.

Other Options — Sterling Shepard ($4,700), Tajae Sharpe ($3,700), Demarcus Robinson ($3,400)

Tight End

Stud

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots, $6,200 — Kelce’s volume hasn’t been adversely impacted by Tyreek Hill getting so much attention, and the big TE has actually out-paced Hill with 6.2 catches per contest over his 24 sims in Madden 21. He has turned that high volume into 74.5 yards per game and 13 total touchdowns to help him average 17.5 DKFP, over 6.0 DKFP more than any other TE on this slate. Kelce had 11 catches for 110 yards, a touchdown and 31.0 DKFP against the Patriots earlier in our Madden 21 sims and followed that up with seven catches for 84 yards, a touchdown and 21.4 DKFP in the rematch. Kelce has actually been held under 15 DKFP for four straight, so he seems overdue for a monster performance like those games, and his salary at just over $6K actually seems like a bit of a bargain when you consider the upside.

Other Options — Evan Engram ($5,100), Tyler Eifert ($4,600)

Value

Devin Asiasi, New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs, $3,600 — While the rookie has yet to catch a pass in real life, he is a key part of the Patriots’ virtual offense, serving as the team’s top TE. He has flourished in the great route tree that created the legend of Ben Watson in Madden 2020, and Asiasi has managed to produce 3.9 catches for 41.3 yards per sim. He isn’t nearly as reliable as the more expensive plays listed above, but he does have solid upside to consider under $4K if you go cheap at TE or need to fill your flex spot with a sub-$4K play.

Other Option — Marcedes Lewis ($3,300)

DST

Stud

Vikings DST vs. New York Giants, $3,000 — While Danny Dimes does have upside as described above, the Vikings’ DST is a solid play to consider since they have been able to pile up 43 sacks in their 20 sims while also forcing 16 turnovers and scoring three defensive touchdowns. They have been at their best when playing at home, where they are averaging 6.0 DKFP, and they come into this matchup on a nice roll with multiple sacks in 12 of their past 16 sims.

Other Options — Chiefs ($3,100)

Value

Packers DST vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $2,800 — The Packers’ defense has been getting beaten on the ground in real life lately, but in these sims, the unit has been pretty productive at creating turnovers and stacking up sacks. They have 45 sacks in their 22 sims and had three sacks against the Jaguars when they met earlier in these sims on their way to 7.0 DKFP. Green Bay has at least 6.0 DKFP in three of its past four games and is in a favorable matchup since the Jaguars have often struggled to put up points in Madden 21.
