The quarterfinal of the Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs between the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Football Club will take place on Tuesday night. With several key players unavailable due to COVID-19, there could be some roster fluidity among both teams. We take a look at some players that could constitute your DraftKings lineups for this Showdown contest.

Carlos Vela ($15,300)

Vela hasn’t played too much soccer this season, at least comparatively to previous seasons. However, he remains one of the best strikers in this league. He scored in the fifth minute in a 1-1 draw in the previous game against the Portland Timbers. For every 90 minutes he has played this season, he has scored an average of 0.85 goals, highest for LAFC. He is even averaging 19.2 DKFP per game. Considering this level of output, his price should probably be a bit higher.

Others to consider: Nicolas Lodeiro ($18,000)

High-priced flex options

Nicolas Lodeiro ($12,000)

Lodeiro is the pivotal point for Seattle. Most plays revolve around him. Most goals are, directly or indirectly, created by him. The stats back up that claim. He has scored seven goals along with 10 assists this season. That equates to a direct hand in 17 goals. He has played 1,782 minutes over 20 games, which is indicative that there will be fluency, match fitness and momentum in his feet. Despite his fantasy output (21.9 DKFP per game), I’d prefer him as a flex player to accommodate a higher quality of players through the rest of the roster.

Raul Ruidiaz ($8,800)

There aren’t too many doubts about this selection. Ruidiaz is the central striker for Seattle. He is also the team’s leading scorer with 12 goals in 17 games (0.76 goals per every 90 minutes played this season). He is also leading the team in shots taken (55) and shots on goal (23). These stats alone justify this selection.

Jordan Morris ($8,200)

Morris is one of only three players in Seattle to have played 22 games this season. He has repaid that faith with 10 goals, second most in the Sounders. He even has eight assists. He also has 18 shots on target this season, second most for Seattle. A price of $8,200 for a player that is averaging 12.7 DKFP per game creates fantastic value for your roster.

Others to consider: Joao Paulo ($6,800)

Value flex options

Bradley Wright-Phillips ($8,000)

With Diego Rossi unavailable after he tested positive for the coronavirus, Wright-Phillips will be even more important for Los Angeles’ offense. He is the second-highest goal scorer for Los Angeles Football Club this season, after Rossi, with eight goals. He has also contributed with six assists. He has taken 33 shots, with 15 on target. Wright-Phillips might have to employ a more aggressive approach in order to make up for Rossi’s absence.

Eduard Atuesta ($7,600)

Along with Rossi, even Brian Rodriguez will miss the game after contracting the coronavirus. That means LAFC will miss two players who have combined to take 120 shots this season. Atuesta usually plays in a central midfield capacity, just behind Rossi in LAFC’s 4-3-3 formation. He might have to push higher up the pitch in order to influence the game. He has scored one goal along with two assists this MLS season in 17 games.

Others to consider: Latif Blessing ($5,200)
