Fantasy Football QB-WR Stacks: Top DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterback-Wide Receiver Picks for Week 12

Matt Meiselman gives his top QB and WR stacks to consider on DraftKings for Week 12’s main NFL slate, which locks at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Welcome to Week 12’s top fantasy football stacks analysis, where we’ll look at some of the best passing game options to consider for Sunday’s main DraftKings NFL slate. The concept to care about here is that quarterbacks and wide receivers generally have correlated fantasy point totals, meaning that one of them scoring points corresponds to the chances of the other one scoring points. For GPPs, we’ll want to keep an eye on ownership estimates, too, so the goal is to present a comprehensive breakdown of which passing game combinations could provide an edge in those DraftKings DFS tournaments.

5. Matt Ryan ($5,900)/Calvin Ridley ($7,100)/Julio Jones ($6,500), Atlanta Falcons vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Falcons put up a major dud in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints, and it now looks like their playoff chances are approaching zero after they failed to score a touchdown in last week’s game. It’s been some time now since the Falcons put together a high-end fantasy game through the air, but this week’s matchup against the Raiders is a solid bounce-back spot, even with Julio Jones potentially limited. Atlanta’s recent struggles should mean low ownership and the Raiders have continued to play below-average defense throughout the season. There’s risk here, particularly with the health of these receivers, but the upside is clearly there with so much talent and such a strong matchup.

4. Mike Glennon ($4,600)/Keelan Cole ($3,600)/Laviska Shenault ($3,300), Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cleveland Browns

This week’s Jaguars stack has as much bust potential as probably any stack this season, but the prices are also lower than basically anything you’ll ever see for a quarterback and two starting receivers. It’s unclear how Glennon will fare in his first start of 2020, but given how cheap this offense is, it won’t take much for this to be a useful stack in Week 12. There are plenty of high-priced players to try to squeeze into lineups this week and starting with Glennon plus a receiver or two makes lineup construction a whole lot easier.

3. Kyler Murray ($8,200)/DeAndre Hopkins ($8,100), Arizona Cardinals at New England Patriots

Murray and Hopkins make for the most expensive QB-WR stack of Week 12, but the high prices also figure to suppress their ownership under some of the cheaper options. Ordinarily, a matchup for Murray against a defense that’s struggled as much as the Patriots have would mean excessively high ownership, but quarterbacks like Josh Allen ($7,600) and Justin Herbert ($7,200) are probably going to make their way into a lot of lineups before Murray does. Larry Fitzgerald is also sidelined for this game, so that could mean a slight increase in target share for Hopkins.

2. Tom Brady ($6,600)/Mike Evans ($6,100)/Chris Godwin ($6,000)/Antonio Brown ($5,700), Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

It’s going to be tough to figure out which of these wide receivers to use, but overall the Bucs look like one of the best passing offenses for GPPs this week. The Chiefs have one of the better pass defenses in the NFL, but they also obviously have a great offense and it’s likely going to be necessary for Brady to attempt to keep up with a high pace. As with the Cardinals, the Bucs simply are flying under the radar as a product of the slate, with more people apparently gravitating toward the Bills and Chargers. Brady has also had some struggles lately, and his poor performance against the Rams in Week 11 should help to make him lower owned in Week 12.

1. Patrick Mahomes ($8,000)/Tyreek Hill ($7,800)/Travis Kelce ($7,000), Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sticking with the same game, the Chiefs’ passing offense looks like the premiere GPP choice for Week 12 with ownership staying medium-to-low for this seemingly matchup-proof offense. The matchup itself may not be all that difficult, however, as the once-dominant Bucs defense has really fallen off in recent weeks. They were picked apart through the air last week by Jared Goff, and prior to that they were blown out by the Saints and almost lost to the Giants, with a convincing-but-high-scoring win against the Panthers mixed in between. The Bucs are still the second-best defense in the NFL by DVOA, but that kind of thing hasn’t seemed to matter much for Mahomes, Hill and Kelce anyway.
