Here are some NFL bets that jump out in Week 9 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
I was all about the Ravens at home against the Steelers last week, with all the trends pointing to backing Baltimore. It didn’t work out in the end, but everything in the box score favored the Ravens. Baltimore dominated the field position game, but just couldn’t resist some key turnovers. This time, I think the Ravens will be able to limit turnovers, and Philip Rivers is a threat to cough up a key turnover himself. Baltimore still ranks third in the NFL, outscoring opponents by over 10 points per game.
Another square play here, which is why this week scares me. But, like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs always seem to be a good bet despite being the public side, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks are becoming the same. Seattle has been dominant in its trips to the East Coast, going 8-1-1 ATS in the last 10 trips. The 49ers were the sharp play against the Seahawks last week. While injuries played a role, Seattle dominated that game from the jump. The Bills got the big victory they needed over the Patriots last week, thanks to Cam Newton coughing up the game late. Over the last four games, Buffalo now has losses to the Titans and Chiefs, a fortunate win over the Pats, and a win over the Jets without scoring a touchdown. The Bills will need to play much better to hold off Wilson and the ‘Hawks.
I’m not comfortable laying -14.5 in this game, although if you made me bet it, there’s no way I’m backing the Cowboys. That said, I think this is going to be a popular game to bet, and there are still plenty of ways to fade Dallas. Pittsburgh moneyline (-1000) is shooting through the roof, but is about as safe a parlay piece as we’ve had all season. If you piece PIT/KC together, you’re only one piece away from getting around even odds if there’s a touchdown favorite you want to add as your third piece. I think if I play anything in this game, I’m looking at the Dallas team total. At under 13.5 for plus-money, I see some upside. In the three games without Dak Prescott, Dallas has scored 10, 3 and 9 points. The Cowboys have scored one touchdown in those three games combined, and it was with Andy Dalton at QB — down 28 to the Cardinals with three minutes left in the game. Tough to see Dallas getting to 14 in this game against an elite Steelers defense.
