Leeds United will host West Ham United at Elland Road on Friday night to open a new gameweek. Here is a look at some plays to consider for your DraftKings lineups.

Set your DraftKings lineup here: EPL Showdown $40K Counter Attack [$10K to 1st] (LEE vs WHU)

Captain

Patrick Bamford ($15,300 CP)

In the Championship last season, Bamford was one of the most reliable goal-scoring options in the league. His step up to the top flight wasn’t expected to be as easy, but he has maintained quite a stellar level of play. He has scored eight goals this season — tied for fifth in the EPL. He has taken 43 shots, more than double of any other player on Leeds United. He has even opened the scoring in three of the last four games in which he has managed a goal.

Others to consider: Jarrow Bowen ($16,500)

High-priced FLEX Options

Jarrod Bowen ($11,000)

Bowen has had a spectacular offensive season so far. With Michail Antonio ($8,000) unavailable for a chunk of this season, Bowen has stepped up in his absence. He is leading West Ham in goals scored (4) and shots taken (27). He even scored a delightful goal, which eventually didn’t count, against Manchester United over the weekend. His price has justifiably increased, but there is still value in his selection.

Sebastien Haller ($9,000)

Haller wasn’t short on scoring chances in his previous game against Manchester United. He played as the solitary striker in an impactful manner, particularly in the air. He has won 43 aerial battles this season, the second-highest mark on West Ham. That characteristic makes him a discernible target in and around the six-yard box in dead-ball situations, or even in open play from either flank.

Raphinha ($8,200)

Raphinha is a punt play on this slate. He hasn’t done much this season — at least in tangible terms — but he has terrific dribbling technique and a mean right foot. He has averaged just 6.9 DKFP per game and was even booked in the previous game against Chelsea. However, if your fantasy roster needs balance with an attacking option from Leeds United, he could end up worth your while.

Others to consider: Mateusz Klich ($7,800)

Value FLEX Options

Tomas Soucek ($5,000)

Soucek’s price should be a lot higher on this slate. He has been an offensive threat for defenses across the Premier League, even though he plays as a holding midfielder behind West Ham’s two attacking midfielders. He has taken 22 shots this season, with two goals in his last four appearances. He is even leading West Ham in tackles made (21) and aerial battles won (63). He scored West Ham’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the previous gameweek.

Kalvin Phillips ($7,600)

West Ham will have to be careful of Phillips’ pace. He can seamlessly transition from a holding role to an attacking threat in a few strides. He has chipped in with two assists already this season, but his real value lies in his contributions in the middle of the field. In fact, he has won 26 tackles. Several of those have resulted in a counter-attack in open play. He is even averaging 11.6 DKFP per game, quite a lot for just $7.6K.

Others to consider: Lukasz Fabianski ($5,800)
