The Raiders have been on a serious skid the last four weeks, going just 1-3 with their lone win on a Hail Mary over the Jets. The Chargers haven’t been any better, but did earn a win over the Falcons in Week 14. Here’s what jumps out for Thursday on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Editor’s Note: Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) and WR Mike Williams (back) will be active for tonight’s game vs. the Raiders.
The Raiders have been pretty awful the last four weeks, losing three of four games, with the lone win thanks to a Hail Mary against the Jets. Since a “good loss” against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, Vegas has gotten blown out by the Falcons and Colts, and should’ve lost to the Jets. Time to turn it around if the Raiders want to make the playoffs. The Chargers won and covered against the Falcons last week, but the narrative around this team is that it doesn’t win, but covers. That’s false. The Chargers had failed to cover six straight games entering Week 14, with the last cover coming in October against Jacksonville. The Raiders won this matchup earlier in the season by five on the road, and I think all the injuries in this one are trending towards a wash. Anthony Lynn also may be the most untrustworthy coach in the NFL. I want my money on the opposite side of him.
Las Vegas is 9-3-1 to the over this season, with the Chargers at 7-6. These teams both score points and play little defense — and it won’t help that there are several key injuries on the defensive side of this game. We saw the same total the first time around between these two teams, and went over at 57. Games played in Las Vegas are averaging over 58 points per game so far this season. This should be a sloppy game, but each defense is going to be extremely thin. Mistakes on that side of the ball should help us with some big plays.

If you only bet one thing for TNF, look to Ekeler’s props. His receiving yards were actually 39.5 when I started writing this article, and I expect them to continue to rise up from 44.5 before this game kicks off. Since returning from injury, Ekeler has been targeted at least nine times in each game, including 16 targets against Buffalo. He’s had 11 receptions for 85 yards against the Bills, four for 32 yards in a blowout loss to the Patriots and nine for 67 against the Falcons. The Raiders’ defense is awful against RBs and is only getting worse in terms of yards per play allowed as the season progresses. This is one I’d be looking to smash.
