Captain
Mohamed Salah ($16,500)
Salah looked in terrific form against Brighton. He should have completed his hat trick with the last touch of the game, a free header on the far post. His runs have been phenomenal, making plenty of room for himself in counter-attack situations even before the play is completed. He even missed two relatively straightforward chances against Burnley at home. He should be back at it in a big game.
Others to consider: Sadio Mane ($14,700)
High-priced flex options
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ($10,200)
Slowly, Aubameyang has received more of the ball as Arsenal has got into its work. When Aubameyang has the ball he can be devastating because he doesn’t need too many touches to convert a half-chance into a shot on target. He has scored 20 goals this season, second behind only Jamie Vardy. He hit the post against Tottenham in the North London derby on Sunday. A goal isn’t far away.
Sadio Mane ($9,800)
Whenever big games have come around since the resumption of the Premier League, Liverpool has faltered (a scoreless draw in the Merseyside derby and a 4-0 thrashing at Etihad against Manchester City). Mane has been a huge part of Liverpool’s resurgence after poor performances this season. After a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley, Jurgen Klopp will look to Mane for his work ethic and goals.
Alexandre Lacazette ($8,400)
Another player that has benefited immensely from the freedom of confidence. It felt like Lacazette was crumbling under the weight of expectations but a few goals can change the entire dynamic of a player’s mindset. He has scored two delightful goals: one against Wolves and a spectacular one against Tottenham. There is a different Lacazette on the pitch right now.
Others to consider: Nicolas Pepe ($9,000).
Value flex options
Trent Alexander-Arnold ($7,800)
Klopp has used some of his backup defenders now that the league has been won. That has, without doubt, impacted the flow and fluency of Liverpool, including Alexander-Arnold’s game. The advantage is that he has been well-rested. Against Arsenal, he will plausibly get the start. He has averaged 17.6 DKFP per game because Liverpool has conceded the fewest goals this season, coupled with his offensive proficiency.
Roberto Firmino ($7,200)
Firmino came close to ending his own goal drought against Burnley. A lovely through-ball by Salah set him up, only for his scuffed shot to hit the post. It’s always a good idea to back skill and talent, from a fantasy perspective. Firmino has scored eight goals along with seven assists this season.
Others to consider: Alisson ($7,400).
