Captain

Florian Valot ($16,500)

Valot, the French midfielder, is one of the most expensive players on this slate because of his experience. He hasn’t played too much MLS soccer, but he has plenty of experience in the European leagues. He has scored one goal in this MLS is Back tournament, which has taken his fantasy output to 14 DKFP, highest among both teams on this slate.

Others to consider: Yuya Kubo ($14,700)

High-priced flex options

Yuya Kubo ($9,800)

Kubo doesn’t have a tremendous body of work in the MLS, particularly in more recent times, but he still occupies a crucial offensive position for FC Cincinnati. He plays as one of two strikers, on the right wing. In a 1-0 win against Atlanta United in his most recent game, he was given the entire duration on the pitch. That might continue on Wednesday.

Daniel Royer ($9,000)

Royer is one of the most important parts of the New York City team. He is coming off a sensational 2019-20 season in which he scored 11 goals. Nine of those 11 goals came in the second half, an indicator that he can get himself going when opposition defenders feel the fatigue. He is yet to open his account in this tournament though.

Marc Rzatkowski ($9,600)

Rzatkowski, the German striker, came off the bench in the previous game to occupy the central midfield role. He might have been eased back into the action and could return to the starting XI for this game. He scored just two goals in the 2019-20 season, but scoring goals is not his primary role in this team. He should still provide value if he starts.

Others to consider: Cristian Cásseres Jr. ($8,400)

Value flex options

Tom Barlow ($7,000)

In the 2019-20 season, Barlow scored three goals for the Red Bulls. He has been entrusted with the striker role this season so far, alongside Royer. He didn’t do much in the previous game before he was taken off. However, there is a chance he could make an influential offensive contribution on Wednesday.

Frankie Amaya ($5,200)

Amaya scored the game winner for FC Cincinnati and was even booked with a yellow card before he was substituted in the second half against Atlanta United. He played down the left flank in the middle of the field in Cincinnati’s preferred 5-3-2 formation. At this price, he is an incredibly valuable selection with his renewed form too.

Others to consider: David Jensen ($7,800)
