We’re all in need of some entertainment during these times of the unknown. DraftKings is doing its part by offering Madden simulations with a variety of teams going at it. For this piece, we’ll focus on Thursday’s 8:00 p.m. ET $10K FREE Madden Stream Game of the Week between the Seahawks and Chiefs.

Showdown Strategy

Seattle Seahawks

Thankfully, this game was voted by all of you as the game as the week, allowing us to make up to five lineups for this contest. This game features so many players you’ll want exposure to and the multiple lineups will allow that. Russell Wilson ($11,400) would normally be the most expensive player in this game with his game-leading average of 21.6 DKFP, but he takes a backseat in this one. Regardless, he’s been one of the best quarterbacks in these simulations, averaging 207 passing yards, 48.8 rushing yards with 47 touchdowns thrown and 11 rushed in. In a single-entry, Wilson could have potentially seen some lower than usual ownership but in this scenario, it should still be high and rightfully so. Get him in your lineups where you can.

DK Metcalf ($6,600) continues to be one of my favorite Seahawks receivers to use when they play. He’s averaging 3.4 receptions, 52 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns scored. He usually has the fastest speed rating in a particular game but that, of course, is taken by Tyreek Hill ($10,600) with a 99 rating. Metcalf is a 96, so it’s not as if you’re missing out on speed on the Seahawks’ side, either.

Tyler Lockett ($9,400) continues to be overpriced for my liking but he could come in at some really low ownership. With so many players you’ll be looking to pay up for, Lockett likely won’t be one of them. If he ends up going off, you’ll be in a great position. Lockett is averaging only 3.3 receptions, 49 yards and 16 touchdowns scored.

Will Dissly ($6,200) is a really solid mid-tier addition you can squeeze in. Even with three games of not making a catch, he’s still averaging 3.7 receptions and 40.7 yards. When he’s getting targets, his volume can suddenly skyrocket, as we’ve seen him make six or seven catches in a game on occasion. Josh Gordon ($4,200) isn’t on my radar and you can find better value cheaper than him, anyway. Gordon is averaging 2.4 receptions and 36 yards per game.

When looking to jam in some of these high priced players, people will undoubtedly be looking at C.J. Prosise ($3,200). His salary has finally taken a big leap, but he’s still a great value when at $3,200. He’ll get some catches out of the backfield and likely grab you a handful of points, which is all you need for someone of his stature.

Kansas City Chiefs

No matter who the Chiefs play, these players always draw your attention. With up to five lineups at your disposal, how could anyone ignore Patrick Mahomes ($11,800), even at the most expensive salary in this game? He’s thrown multiple touchdowns in seven straight games and overall is averaging 20.1 DKFP with 265.3 passing yards per game while producing a total of 68 (!) touchdowns thrown. He doesn’t run as much as one would like, but that’s truly me nitpicking on a player who is hard to do that with. Truly, what more can you say about the guy? Play Mahomes.

His WR1, as you’d imagine, is smashing just as much as Mahomes is. Tyreek Hill ($10,600) is more expensive than most quarterbacks and rightfully so. He’s averaging 18.1 DKFP, 4.7 receptions and 71.6 yards with 23 touchdowns scored. His 99 speed is unmatched in Madden, so he can blow past any coverage a team will throw his way. If it’s the 100+ receiving yard bonus you seek, Hill has done that in 10 of the 32 games the Chiefs have played.

Travis Kelce ($8,600) is the most expensive tight end I can recall, but it’s because of the heavy volume he receives. He’s a great pivot off Hill if you can’t afford him, as you’ll sacrifice the speed but get a player who is averaging 5.1 receptions, 66.7 yards and 12 touchdowns scored. I really like his matchup against the Seahawks and think he also would make for a good captain’s pick with his volume.

Sammy Watkins ($7,400) is usually the forgotten man in this offense but his production has been solid, averaging 3.4 receptions and 50 receiving yards with 18 touchdowns scored. He falls in that range where he could be considered a tad bit expensive as people are either paying up or down. He’s a great ownership play and would highly recommend using him in the captain spot at least once for a low ownership play.

Demarcus Robinson ($5,000) should be one of the more popular plays on this slate. For being as cheap as he is, he’s averaging 3.4 receptions and 53.4 yards with 13 touchdowns scored. Those are some good numbers for someone that is only $800 more than Josh Gordon.

Damien Williams ($8,200) is another player I could see getting some lower ownership with how his salary is set. I think he’s someone that could also end up with a good game as the Seahawks haven’t exactly defended against the run well. Williams is averaging 73.7 scrimmage yards per game with 15 touchdowns on the ground and three through the air.

The Outcome

We have so many captain options we can choose from, so I won’t list them all off and will instead give a couple that could see lower ownership to help mix your lineups up a bit. I think Demarcus Robinson ($7,500) is a great way to go cheap at captain while also not giving up much at this position. His volume isn’t heavy, but he has good speed and has scored at a healthy pace. I also think Sammy Watkins ($11,100) will see very little captain ownership, so if he goes off, it would put you at a massive advantage over the field.

Final Score: Chiefs 30, Seahawks 24
