Stacking is always one of the most used strategies when building your daily fantasy baseball lineup. It’s a quick way to rack up the fantasy points, especially if hitters are getting on base and knocking others in. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of my favorite stacks for Monday’s slate and of course, the reasons why.

As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.

1. Colorado Rockies

I’m not blowing anyone away with this as my top stack but it’s true. I’m shocked the Rockies are only at a 5.5 team total on the DraftKings Sportsbook because I’m really struggling to see how Robbie Ray ($6,300) comes out of this start unscathed. Through his first three starts, Ray has allowed six home runs, a putrid 8.74 FIP and a 47.4% hard-hit rate. Now he has to go to Coors Field and face some of the best hitters against lefties at home like Trevor Story ($6,100) and Nolan Arenado ($6,300). This is such a bad spot for Ray and then he’ll give way to a bullpen who has posted a 4.84 FIP, which is one of the worst in the league. Truly, not much to hate for the Rockies here.

Players to Consider

Trevor Story ($6,100)
Nolan Arenado ($6,300)
Matt Kemp ($4,500)
Charlie Blackmon ($5,800)
David Dahl ($5,400)

2. Minnesota Twins

This one will likely be off the radar for most, so hopefully we can come through with a big night for the Twins. When you look at Adrian Houser ($8,400) he’s posted some really strong numbers through his first two starts of the season, allowing just one run on six hits with nine strikeouts through 12 innings. However, when you look at his FIP, it’s so much bigger than his 0.75 ERA, sitting at 4.05. To me, it looks as if Houser has been getting quite lucky in his starts, backed up by the 40.7% hard-hit rate he’s allowed. The Twins will no doubt be left on the board, so I’m hoping we can not only get them at low ownership but blow up Houser’s spot.

Players to Consider

Nelson Cruz ($5,600)
Miguel Sano ($5,100)
Mitch Garver ($4,800)
Eddie Rosario ($4,400)
Marwin Gonzalez ($3,600)

3. Chicago White Sox

We have to watch the weather in this one but I really like this spot for the White Sox. We could end up seeing rain come through after the game begins, so keep an eye on that. If everything goes according to plan, the Tigers will open with Michael Fulmer ($6,800) and then go with Daniel Norris ($5,700) in the long relief role. Neither has pitched much thus far but they’ve combined to allow six runs on nine hits through 5 13 innings. With the lefty Norris expected to get the bulk of the innings, those are the hitters I’ll be looking to target for my lineup. Again, this could be another stack that could go under the radar a bit, as so much attention will be on Coors Field.

Players to Consider

Jose Abreu ($5,200)
Yasmani Grandal ($4,700)
Yoan Moncada ($4,500)
Luis Robert ($4,500)
Eloy Jimenez ($4,200)

4. Los Angeles Angels

Sean Manaea ($8,800) probably would like to restart the 2020 season, as it hasn’t exactly been his strongest. Coming in with plenty of hype, Manaea has allowed 13 runs (11 earned) on 17 hits with just a 21.8 K%. To his credit, his command has been excellent with a 1.8 BB% but he’s simply not getting hitters out. His 3.38 FIP shows he could be getting unlucky but I’m not a fan of this matchup against the Angels. Los Angeles has a good number of bats that can hit lefties well, so I’m thinking this is another tough spot for Manaea.

Players to Consider

Mike Trout ($6,000)
Anthony Rendon ($5,300)
Albert Pujols ($4,200)
Jo Adell ($3,000)
Justin Upton ($3,300)
