Indiana Pacers vs. Houston Rockets: Game Result
The Pacers will be without Bubble MVP candidate T.J. Warren for this one, and list the rest of their key contributors as questionable — Malcolm Brogdon, Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner. Even if any of those guys wind up playing, Indy has made its intentions clear here. The Rockets will play James Harden and still have to win to stay in the 4/5-seed range in the west. Houston is a 7-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook and -278 on the moneyline. Given the injury report, I think this is the easiest game of the day to ride wire-to-wire, meaning Houston is also the play on the first-half pick.
Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Game Result
The Raptors rested some starters on Monday, but they’ll be at nearly full strength for this one. The Sixers are banged up and will have a tough time climbing out of the 6-seed in the east. Who knows how much Toronto plays the starters, but unless Philly rules in all four starters that missed Tuesday’s game, this feels like a Raptors wire-to-wire spot. The Raptors are 6.5-point favorites with a -250 ML on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: Game Result
Seeding is still open for both of these teams, but we can also question their motivation. Miami allowed Jimmy Butler to sit for three games with a foot injury, and the Thunder sat everyone but Chris Paul on Monday against the Suns. The key for me here is that OKC could still be without both its centers, which would give Miami the edge, but of course, that assumes the Heat give their starters full minutes. I like Miami to win, but this could be a spot to get contrarian since the spread is just three points. Maybe take the Thunder in the first half, or go way off the board and play the tie.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets: Game Result
The Clippers have sat one of Kawhi Leonard or Paul George each of the last two games. Doc Rivers sat George in a close game against the Blazers (and actually wound up winning), while Kawhi played late in a loss to the Nets. With both off the injury report, the Clips could be getting one final tune up before the playoffs? The Nuggets played the Jazz down to the wire in double OT over the weekend, but then sat starters late in the narrow loss to the Lakers. Obviously, if news breaks about how either team will be handling their rotation, adjust your pick. However, the Clippers are the better team, and played their top players in their most recent contest. I like Clippers first half the most here, and then if you want to mix things up for the game and go with the Nuggets, I can’t argue with you. Maybe Michael Malone switches it up and gives the starters run one last time. I’d be contrarian, with LAC -5 on the spread.
