We love stacking teams. I know you love stacking teams because you’re here in this article. So since you were kind enough to join me, I’ll give you my five favorite stacks of the evening on what should be a night of baseball filled with offense.

1. Baltimore Orioles
Nothing like starting off with your top stack being the Baltimore Orioles but it’s true! If you don’t know already, the Orioles have been a legitimate team to stack this season, especially when going up against lefties. Baltimore enters this game with the second best wOBA and ISO against them at .396 and .283. On top of that, the Orioles aren’t striking out against them at all with an 18.8 K%, which is one of the lowest in the league. Truly, this feels like a really strong spot for them against Hyun Jin Ryu ($9,400), who is also the most expensive pitcher on the slate. Tonight, we are all Orioles fans.

2. White Sox
It was really close for me for which stack I wanted to write up as my No. 1 but the White Sox get the consolation prize. To be fair, I think you have a legitimate way to mix both the White Sox and Orioles together to make a MEGA STACKKKKKKK. Matthew Boyd ($8,900) could very well be pitching for his spot in the rotation, especially after the news that the Tigers are recalling one of their top prospects in Casey Mize. As for Boyd, he’s been hit hard in all four of his starts with his last one being against the White Sox. In that game, he went just 4 2⁄3 innings allowing seven runs on seven hits. It’s not like he’s been getting unlucky either, allowing a 6.19 FIP, a 47.1% hard-hit rate and a big drop in his swings-and-misses from 14% last season to 11.2% thus far.

3. New York Yankees
To be fair, Martin Perez ($5,800) hasn’t been as bad as I expected. The numbers don’t lie, as through four starts he has a 3.93 FIP while allowing 31.7% hard-hit rate. But he’s also had a bit of a cupcake schedule, first struggling against the Orioles (NO SURPRISE) and then seeing the Mets and Rays twice. This is by far his toughest matchup and I think this is where the wheels come off. Even better, the Red Sox’ bullpen is atrocious, leaving plenty of opportunities for the Yankees to rack up more fantasy goodness. I would like this stack more if it wasn’t for the other two teams ahead of them but still think it’s worth getting exposure to.

4. Minnesota Twins
I could never leave off the Twins going up against a lefty and that’s exactly what we have going tonight. Kris Bubic ($6,400) will be taking the mound for fourth time this season and has a 4.94 FIP with a 46.3% hard-hit rate and a 1.8 HR/9. To be fair, the Twins haven’t been the offensive juggernauts against lefties as we expected thus far but I’m certainly not one to be fading them either. Even with some sluggish numbers from some of their better hitters against lefties, when combined with last year, they’re still enormous. It also doesn’t hurt that the Royals’ bullpen has been very shaky at best and is struggling with home runs with a combined 1.3 HR/9 which ranks 11th in the league.

5. San Diego Padres
This is a stack that will most certainly go under the radar tonight if that’s what you’re looking for. Jordan Lyles ($7,300) is taking the hill for the Rangers and it’s safe to say people won’t be talking about his number being retired when he leaves the game of baseball. Over four games (three starts) Lyles has a 6.44 FIP, a 16 BB% (!) and a 1.6 HR/9. He’s kept his hard-hit rate at a relatively good number at 34% but that’s about all the good news I can give. I wouldn’t worry about ownership on these guys at all as I think with maybe the exception of Fernando Tatis Jr. ($5,400) no one is going to draw much attention.
