The UFC APEX Center in Las Vegas will once again host another ESPN card this Saturday night. UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar underwent several changes and features a plethora of last-minute replacements, but with all the fresh talent on hand, we may be looking at the newest wave of contenders in the making. The show will be headlined by a firecracker fight between number 5 ranked bantamweight Pedro Munhoz and longtime veteran and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, who will be making his bantamweight debut in this contest. Let’s check out some of the targets and values that are worth taking a second look at on DraftKings.

Pedro Munhoz ($9,000)
Pedro Munhoz is a well-rounded volume striker and submission specialist. He exhibits growing power and is aggressive, always looking to get the fight in close quarters where he can get those hard knees and elbows going. Munhoz is a slick submission artist with good scrambling ability and more than capable wrestling. Pedro’s boxing is evolving from fight to fight, and outside the Aljamain Sterling and John Dodson fights, he’s looked sensational over the last four years, notching two knockouts and three submissions over that time frame in addition to two unanimous decision wins. Against an aging Frankie Edgar ($7,200), Munhoz holds all the cards from physical advantages to technical ones. Edgar has spent his entire career cutting little to no weight, but now, at age 38, he’ll be in the same boat as the majority of fighters in this sport, with the effects of a real weight cut to contend with. Edgar has a chance to pull off the win, but it’s a slim chance. Munhoz is a -265 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, and the oddsmakers are correct to set the line this wide.
Mariya Agapova ($9,300)
At just 23 years old, Agapova has the look of a future contender. She is a product of the legendary American Top Team and has the excellent grappling and striking to show for it. You might recall her last fight with Hannah Cifers where she slapped on a gnarly rear-naked choke in the first round, securing the victory and a performance bonus for her efforts. Her opponent, Shana Dobson ($6,800), just doesn’t look like she has what it takes to be successful in the sport. Dobson is currently riding a three-fight losing skid, with her last win coming way back in 2017 over Ariel Beck at the TUF 26 season finale. Mariya might not have the most seamless defense, but she’s young and with a great camp, so there’s plenty of room for growth and experience. There is a distinct gulf in the pricing on this contest, but it’s one of those rare cases where the line is completely justified.
Dwight Grant ($8,800)
Editor’s note: Takashi Sato and Calen Born have been taken off Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card. Dwight Grant will now face Daniel Rodriguez.
Dwight Grant has the heavy hands to really make a name for himself. He just needs to pick up the pace in order to keep people interested in seeing the point at which he knocks out his opponents. Of his ten wins, seven of them are knockouts, and that, in itself, is worth keeping him on your “prospects of note” list.
Since Calen Born ($7,000) is a late replacement making his UFC debut in this bout, we might see a more active side of Grant, one who’s willing to throw down early and often. He certainly has the physical gifts to be a star. One thing is sure, turning age 36 next month will mean he doesn’t have a whole lot of time to waste being inactive in his fights if he wants to get better opponents. Time waits for no man.
Marcin Prachnio ($7,300)
Marcin Prachnio is a knockout artist hailing from Poland who’s best known for his time under ONE Championship’s banner and the 10 knockout wins he has to his credit. While not big on volume, he possesses power and explosive ability, and a willingness to stand and trade in the pocket. Many will point to Marcin’s two-fight losing skid inside the octagon as a reason not to take a chance on him, but Sam Alvey is known to pack heat and Magomed Ankalaev is a rising star with the nastiest head kicks. There’s no shame in either of those losses, especially considering that his opponent, Mike Rodriguez ($8,900) is losing to an arguably lower level of competition. Prachnio is very much a live dog in this contest.
Takashi Sato ($7,500)
Editor’s note: Takashi Sato has been taken off Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card. Daniel Rodriguez will now face Dwight Grant.
Takashi Sato is a southpaw powerhouse with rocket launchers in his hands. He sports 11 knockouts of his 15 wins, with blinding hand speed and very good footwork. Sato is aggressive and willing to take punishment to dish some out—to the tune of absorbing 5.10 shot per minute while landing 3.94 per minute. He’s much more technically sound and polished than his opponent, Daniel Rodriguez ($8,700), who is also a heavy-handed striker. Sato’s movement is worth noting, especially since he is a stick-and-move specialist, getting in, firing off a combo and getting back out quickly. This is such a well-matched contest, one that absolutely has the look of fight of the night written all over it, and Takashi Sato has an excellent chance of scoring the upset.
