We got some wild news in the Madden simland last Friday as DraftKings announced they would now be offering paid contests! Free entries are still available but you can now use real money to enter contests and win some back in return.

Each simulation will be played out via an online Madden Stream using Madden 2020 with rosters and ratings from the end of the 2019-20 season. In this format, you can enjoy watching the game stream on the DraftKings YouTube channel, on the DK Live app (download here) or right here in this post. Follow along to watch your fantasy team pile up fantasy points. The stream begins at 12:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 4.

Quarterback

Stud

Russell Wilson, SEA at PHI, $7,800 —This is such a great spot for Wilson, who has the highest DKFP average among all players in these three games at 22. Against such a poor Eagles secondary, Wilson should find success both through the air and on the ground, as he’s averaging 218 passing and 48 rushing yards per game. With some decent value at the other positions, I think it’s worth paying up for the most expensive QB in a very good matchup.

Value

Dak Prescott, DAL at NO, $6,400 — While you likely won’t find as much success with Prescott through the air, his rushing ability makes him a solid play at just $6,400, the second cheapest starter on the board. Averaging the same rushing yards per game as Wilson at 48, Prescott has run in for a touchdown 10 times while throwing for 171 yards per game and 57 touchdowns. If you cannot afford Wilson, Prescott is a very good consolation prize.

Running Back

Stud

Alvin Kamara, NO at DAL, $6,500 — I’m always looking for who is going to get me the most PPR points at the running back position and Kamara, despite being the second most expensive, could be the one tonight. His 109 receptions are the most on this slate at running back and it’s helped him average 85 scrimmage yards per game with 32 touchdowns scored. 10 of those have come through the air, giving him that high PPR ceiling.

Value

Miles Sanders, PHI vs. SEA, $5,400 — Relative to the production he puts in, Sanders is simply too cheap at $5,400. He’s averaging an impressive 88 scrimmage yards per game but only 23 touchdowns scored. Sanders has caught six and run in 17 but even when he’s not scoring, he’s constantly posting double-digit fantasy points. A recent run of small games could keep his ownership down, as he’s averaging just 9.5 DKFP over his last four games.

Wide Receiver

Stud

Julian Edelman, NE at MIN, $6,100 — For the most part, these teams taking the field have good secondaries, so most of the receivers don’t stand out that you want to pay up for. Micheal Thomas ($7,400) is always an exception to the rule but he carries a very high price tag. I think Edelman out of the slot is a great play and is averaging 4.5 receptions, 51.1 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns scored. While most of the attention on this offense is focused on Ben Watson ($4,400) and rightfully so, Edelman continues to go overlooked despite his production.

Value

DK Metcalf, SEA at PHI, $4,600 — Boasting one of the best speed ratings in all of Madden, Metcalf against the Eagles’ secondary is a matchup I don’t want to miss out on. Pairing him with Wilson gives you a very affordable QB/WR stack while not skimping out on volume. Metcalf is averaging 3.4 receptions but an impressive 56 yards per game with 16 touchdowns scored. Metcalf should have no problem against his coverage and a big yardage game isn’t out of the question.

Tight End

Stud

Jared Cook, NO at DAL, $5,300 — If the Saints are playing, Cook is always going to be in a lineup. His volume is so insane, especially when you consider that Thomas is also on this team. Cook is seeing 5.3 receptions for 57 yards per game and 16 touchdowns scored. It would be great if he could start getting into the end zone more but it’s rare that you’re going to find a player, especially in the $5K range, that’s averaging over five receptions per game. You don’t need to think hard about this one, unless of course you want...

Value

Ben Watson, NE at MIN, $4,400 — The other volume king over on the Patriots. Watson is averaging 5.3 receptions of his own for 66.7 yards and 17 touchdowns scored. Truly, I don’t believe you can go wrong with either Cook or Watson and I would even strongly consider using a two tight end lineup, which is something I would rarely do during the regular NFL season. Regardless, you’d be getting two players who would combine to average 10.6 receptions per game and it would only cost you $9,700 of your salary cap.

DST

Patriots DST at MIN, $2,900 — I think the Pats’ DST is an easy play here with some of the players they boast, specifically Stephon Gilmore and their matchup. To be fair, Kirk Cousins ($6,000) hasn’t been as turnover prone as one would think with only eight interceptions but the 99 sacks by the Patriots are simply absurd. At $2,900, this is hardly going to move the needle with your remaining salary to use.
