2020 Wyndham Championship Field

1. Brooks Koepka, Webb Simpson, Justin Rose, Patrick Reed, Tommy Fleetwood, Abraham Ancer, Sungjae Im, Shane Lowry and Paul Casey are the only players inside the Top 30 in the official world golf rankings in the field of 156 players.

2. This is the final event to accrue points and qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs. The playoff start next week with the Northern Trust at TPC Boston featuring the Top 125 players in the standings.

3. Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, Billy Horschel, Ryan Moore, Davis Love, Rory Sabbatini, Ryan Armour, Jim Furyk, Paul Casey and Harris have the most Stokes Gained: Total over the last five years at the Wyndham Championship.

4. Henrik Norlander, Tom Lewis, Chez Reavie, Sam Burns and Billy Horschel had the most aggregate Strokes Gained: Total in the six events previous to the 2020 PGA Championship.

5. The Wyndham is not usually played after the PGA Championship, so a lot of the players in the field will be making the trek cross country from San Francisco.

2020 Wyndham Championship: Key Stats

6. Strokes Gained: Approach and Strokes Gained: Putting have been more than twice as impactful to the Top 5 finishers on the leaderboard the last eight years.

7. There are eight Par 4s measuring between 400-450 yards. Abraham Ancer, Tom Lewis, Kyle Stanley, Corey Conners and Brooks Koepka have been the best players on holes of this length since the PGA TOUR restart.

8. Both Par 5s are reachable by the entire field. No. 5 has has a 6.2% eagle rate, while No. 15 has a 3.8% eagle rate.

9. The putting surfaces are around TOUR average (6,500 sq. feet) and historically run faster than most PGA TOUR greens. Per Fantasy National, Denny McCarthy, Billy Horschel, Harris English, Wyndham Clark and Greg Chalmers have gained the most strokes putting on fast greens over their 50 rounds.

10. There has been significant leaderboard crossover between success at the Wyndham Championship and the RBC Heritage. Both are short, Bermuda, Par 70 courses.

2020 Wyndham Championship: Course

11. Sedgefield CC in Greensboro, North Carolina plays 7,127 yards as a Par 70 with Bermudagrass greens.

2020 Wyndham Championship Picks — Early Targets

Si Woo Kim

It’s never wise to stake your hopes on the Ricky Bobby of the PGA Tour, but this is a track where he’s previously won, and his form is about as good as it’s ever been. Almost all of his career success has emanated at short, bermudagrass courses, and WOOOOOOO comes to Greensboro gaining on approach in his past three starts, having made six cuts in a row with three Top 20 finishes.

Ryan Moore

Down to No. 110 in the world rankings, the five-time PGA Tour winner is starting to get his form back. After a troika of missed cuts coming out of the hiatus, Moore has quietly gone T40/T12/T12 over his last three events. He’s yet to earn over a full stroke on the greens in his past six starts, but the irons have returned to his former high level. Moore picked up a victory here in 2009, and claimed another two Top 10s in his past four starts at Sedgefield. Plus, if you’re ever going to back Moore, it’s at a course where his lack of distance won’t be an issue.

Other notable names appearing near the top of stat models and the win simulator at FantasyNational.com: Webb Simpson, Patrick Reed, Shane Lowry, Sungjae Im
